Pretty pastels at Peggy Porschen

Cupcakes and cakes at Peggy Porschen, London

Hey hey! Who’s in the mood for cupcakes, pastels, teapots and bunting?

Yesterday Nadene, Asta and I went to a very cute little patisserie in Belgravia called Peggy Porschen.
Nadene is studying interior design and, as part of her course, is designing her own patisserie. For this very reason (and obviously no other at all, nothing to do with cake..), we had to go and check out this well-renowned little shop.
IN THE NAME OF RESEARCH.

The “Peggy Porschen Parlour” opened in 2010, allowing Peggy’s loyal following of customers to purchase ready-to-eat cupcakes, cakes and other sweet treats. She has also carried on her made-to-order side of the business, baking for any and all occasions. Kate Moss, Elton John, Stella McCartney, Madonna and Gwenyth Paltrow are just some of the names that grace her impressive client list.

2011 saw the opening of the “Peggy Porschen Academy”, where people of all levels, from budding beginners to those wishing to go down a more professional path, can attend classes and learn Peggy’s incredible techniques first-hand.

The parlour is one of the cutest places I’ve ever set eyes on.
The pink exterior of the corner bakery colours the entire street, making visitors have no doubt as to what they are about to step into and experience.

The interior is even more extraordinary.
Think cutesy pastel colours, ghost chairs, bunting in all the right places and polka dots. Lots of polka dots.
Gorgeous cakes decorate the windows, making passersby literally stop in their tracks to have a peek in. They offer a standard range of coffee-based drinks as well as their own range of artisan teas inspired by flavours in Peggy’s kitchen. They also house a well-stocked wall of books, decorating tools and bakeware.

So the next time you’re looking for an adorable place to have a catch-up with some friends or perhaps something special for an event, try out Peggy Porschen - I'm sure you'll fall in love with the place like I did.
It’s even worth just popping in for a look at their beautifully decorated shop (and maybe a cheeky cupcake too - you won’t be able to resist!).

Yum, who’s hungry now?! I sure am…
